About the Cameroonian Music Council

The Cameroonian Council of Music, an association of Cameroonian music professionals, was established in September 2009 in Douala under the co-chairmanship of Professor Lupwishi Mbuyamba, President of the African Council of Music and Robert Bendengue Regional Delegate of Culture at that time. Cameroon, as a founding member of the African Council of Music and already being a member of the International Council of Music since 2003, it was a good thing that its rich musical culture be represented more effectively. To date, we are 262 promoters and cultural structures that unite our efforts around better structuring and strengthening relations between all stakeholders in the Cameroonian music sector.

Under Cameroonian law, the Cameroonian Council of Music is administered by an executive bureau elected by members meeting in general assembly once a year.

Mission

the JCC organises professional meetings:

* Nationally:
These meetings cover the entire territory of Cameroon,
connecting the different musical actors in all regions.

*International:
The network expands its influence and collaborations beyond Cameroon's borders, promoting global exchanges.
The JCC takes an approach based on regional structuring, relying on its local members as strategic relays. These members play a key role in:
1. Organisation of regional activities.
2. The transmission of needs and local initiatives at the national level.
3. Coordination of collaborations with other territories, in Cameroon or abroad.
This strategy reinforces the impact of the JCC by consolidating its network, while ensuring better accessibility and relevance of actions on the ground.
